Unturned Hosting, Help Guides, and Knowing When Your Server Goes Down
Unturned hosting went live, we wrote four Unturned setup guides, added quick links to your panel and billing, and fixed something that had been quietly costing people their trials.
A busy few days. Here is everything that changed, and one fix that matters more than the rest.
Unturned hosting is live
You can now rent an Unturned server from us. Three plans: £5/mo for 2 GB RAM and 20 GB storage, £9/mo for 4 GB and 40 GB, and £13/mo for 6 GB and 60 GB.
The nice thing about Unturned is that your friends join with a Server Code rather than an address. Your code is printed in the console the moment the server starts, so you paste it into chat and they are in. No IP, no port, nothing to forward. Rocket plugins load on startup, and changing the map is a dropdown in the panel rather than a config file you have to go and find.
Update, 15 September 2026: Unturned now has a free 24-hour trial, like the rest of what we host. You can start one with no card from our Unturned page. When this post went out it did not: billing was live from the start, and you could cancel any time from the panel.
Four Unturned guides in the help centre
A game going on sale with no documentation is half a product, so there are now guides for first setup, getting your friends in, changing the map, and installing Rocket plugins.
The map one is worth reading before you switch. Changing map starts a fresh world on that map. Your old one is not deleted, it stays on disk, so switching back returns you to where you left off, but each map keeps its own separate save.
Quick links to your panel and billing
There is a Links menu in the top navigation now. It takes you straight to your game panel, your billing portal, and our service status page. Small thing, but those addresses were only reachable if you already knew them.
You will now be told when your trial server stops responding
This is the one that actually mattered.
We have had a monitor for a long time that checks whether a running trial server is still reachable. It worked. When a server went quiet, it noticed within a few minutes and told us.
It never told you.
So if your trial server went down, your dashboard carried on showing a green badge, a running countdown, and a connect address you could copy, while nobody could actually join. If you did not think to test it yourself, the first sign something was wrong was your friends saying they could not get in.
That is fixed. If your server stops responding, your dashboard now says so, tells you roughly how long it has been down, and lists the usual causes: you stopped it yourself and it just needs starting again, or the map name you set does not match one that is installed, which stops the server without any obvious error.
It clears itself the moment your server is reachable again, so restarting it and watching the warning disappear is the quickest way to confirm you have fixed it.
Worth saying plainly: this was our gap, not yours. The information existed the whole time and simply was not being shown to the person who could do something about it.
Also
Games that need two network ports side by side now reserve both together when your server is created, rather than the second one turning out to be taken partway through setup.
If something is broken or confusing, tell us on the feedback page or in Discord. The trial fix above came out of watching one real trial go wrong, so it does help.
